Cornegy 2009: "What Is Needed In The Bedford-Stuyvesant Community?"

"What Is Needed In The Bedford-Stuyvesant Community?"

I believe, one of the things that is needed in the Bedford-Stuyvesant Community is more dialogue around personal and public safety.

I've been talking with you about your safety for awhile. I've been telling people how not to leave themselves vulnerable to become a victim of a crime in their homes, apartments, businesses or neighborhood.

Just in case you missed our Bedford-Stuyvesant concerned citizen crime prevention forum last week... you need to read this.

We had a good turn out and great participation on a dreary, cold and raining evening on Wednesday April 1st 2009 from Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood residents on our concerned citizen crime prevention forum. I am proud to say we started on time.

We were all there for the same reason...

We are taking personal responsibility for our safety and well being. And more importantly for our family's safety.

I really appreciate participants coming out and officers from the 81st and the 79th police precinct taking the time to dialogue with us and answer questions.

Our LIVELY crime prevention forum discussion was about being AWARE of our immediate surroundings and being PROACTIVE for our safety.

I believe, with ongoing dialogue, community involvement and elevated awareness we can lessen the crime in our neighborhood.

From the personal crime experiences, stories and advice shared at these forum dicussions we can learn how to improve our odds of knowning what to do for our personal home and public safety.

We won't just give up! We will be proactive.

If you missed the Cornegy 2009 Bedford-Stuyvesant Community Crime Prevention Forum on April 1st, 2009 please be sure to call and get your Crime Prevention Safety Guide.

This ia a gift to my neighbors and residents who live in the Bedford-Stuyvesant and Crown Height Communities.

Not many folks may know about this...and it might take
some explaining...

But...

This a crime prevention strategy that can help the neighbors behind you identify your house in the event of a back of the home bulgary or fire. Having a neigbor that can call police and correctly identify your residence can make all the difference in the world.

Make sure you call the police and report any suspicious behaviors you notice in your neighborhood. Muster up the courage to make the call to the police if a crime happens to YOU. I encourage you to report crimes to our precinct to get the level of service we deserve.

Can you please make sure to tell your neighbors to come over and get their FREE guide and sign up, too. If you have a senior loved one who owns a home in the Bedford-Stuyvesant and Crown Heights Communities, please take a moment to learn more about the FREE address painting service we offer. This is too important and please take a moment to tell a friend.

My wish is for YOU and your loved ones to be safe!

Keep Updated of all future Cornegy 2009 Bedford-Stuyvesant corncerned citizens forum and events (mark your calendar). Although speaking at events is now a big part of my Cornegy 2009 Campaign I still do a lot of civic work.
