I have been talking to people to help people get over their fear of Technology, Computers and the Internet. If a person feels intimidated even if they own a home computer they won't use it. In my connecting with people I want to create an atmosphere where people feel at ease to use the Internet in the comfort of their home, library or Internet cafe to access information and in turn, learn the sources and valuable resources needed to make informed decisions... about how to improve their mental, physical, and financial health.

FINALLY, WE HAVE WEB 2.0 ONLINE MARKETING SERVICES WHERE WE LIVE FOR PEOPLE IN OUR BEDFORD STUYVESANT · STUYVESANT HEIGHTS · CROWN HEIGHTS COMMUNITY WHO REALLY WANT AN ONLINE MEDIA PRESENCE TO PROMOTE THEIR BUSINESS.

Well, I have some good news... Two things. First up, I have a recommended resource. Affordable Web 2.0 Internet training is FINALLY available for non-technical people to help you promote your church fund raiser, your civic organization, your homebased business or small business. My main Cornegy 2009 campaign website logo and design is by tara.nicole. My Cornegy 2009 Campaign website has been up and running smoothly since February 2009 and my Web 2.0 Cornegy 2009 Blog was launch on March 20th 2009. I would have recommended my Web 2.0 resources sooner, but I really didn't want to until I was 100% positive that Web 2.0 is all that it is hyped up to be and really works. It works!

I didn't want to open my mouth about this to soon... Truth is, I didn't want this particular Web 2.0 information getting out to my competitors.

I am continuing my community service outreach online with my "On Air With Cornegy" LIVE Blog Talk Radio Show on Sunday evenings from 6:30 pm to 7 pm.

NO WE DID NOT WIN THE BROOKLYN DISTRICT 36TH N Y 2009 PRIMARY ELECTION.

Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights Brooklyn's 2009 Primary Election Results, Councilman Al Vann retains his NY City Council Seat.

However, my not winning the Brooklyn City Council Seat will not in any way deter my committment to serving my community and empowering people who live in central Brooklyn.

I have said it before and I will say it again... I have an AMAZING CORNEGY TEAM of consultants, staff and community volunteers. Thanks to all who helped out today!

We've had some good times haven't we?

We've shared live community events, conversations and opinions. I even shared a couple of videos with you. The 'Cornegy 2009 You Already Know Me' video is a big hit.

The initial feedback from the 'Cornegy 2009 You Already Know Me' has been off-the-charts positive...

Case in point. Like this comment I got from a long time neighbor

"hey bro, I like the video... you are right I already KNOW you."

I just wished you emphasized more to people that they should keep getting the word out… or else things "could" stay the same.

It's great how you take time to speak and acknowledge people or have time to answer a question or go into detail in covering community resources... this is something that a lot of people don't know about you or will overlook... it's the little things that make a HUGE difference.

...And obviously the knowledge you share is top notch.

Honestly, I think many of the people in our community are sleeping on you man. Or maybe they aren't and I just don't know what's going on behind the scenes. (Meaning, they should be supporting me).

My neighbor clearly articulated his thoughts and his concern for the Cornegy 2009 Campaign. I appreciate my neighbor's feedback. He knows I am dedicated to making a difference in my community, and I am humbled by his and others personal comments and well wishes for my campaign.

What Does Al Vann's Non Attendance At The Brooklyn College Debates Mean?

Al Vann District 36 Democrat - Council Member - Does Not See The Need To Debate Or Take His 2009 Primary Challengers Seriously. It seems Al Vann wants his leadership, past deeds and experience in government to speak for him today.

Al Vann District 36 Democrat - Council Member - Does Not See The Need To Debate. Al Vann represented Bedford Stuyvesant in the New York State Assembly for 27 years from 1974-2001. Al Vann is representing the 36 Democrat Brooklyn City Council since 2001 for 8 years.

Al Vann District 36 Democrat - Council Member - Does Not See The Need To Debate. It seems Al Vann wants his New York Elected Officials' Endorsements to speak for him.

Al Vann's name is familiar for most 36 Democrat voters... senior voters, baby boomer voters and generation x voters. It seems Al Vann wants his voter base to do what they have always done "stick with who they know" and re-elect him.

The questions I have for you to consider is listed below...

When is the last time Al Vann attended a 36th district town hall meeting, visited your Bed-Stuy or Crown Heights neighborhood, your central Brooklyn community event, community center or senior center or answered his 36th district constituents' questions in a public forum.

What ARE you going to do about it?

Many challenges face our community's seniors... affordable prescriptions and 'quality of life' issues.

Many challenges face our community's homeowners... unemployment due to the economic downturn, higher taxes, increased prices for utilities and foreclosure.

Do you want to maintain Al Vann's 'status quo' leadership and a political fixture image he has given you over the years or do you want to take the chance to elect a new District 36 Democrat - Council Member - for Brooklyn City Council who has new perspectives, new vision, energetic leadership, who will be more responsive to the people served and will work diligently to represent the needs of the diverse neighborhoods in Bedford-Suyvesant and Crown Heights?

After 35 years of Al Vann's leadership...

Why do we have a need to revitalize many of our central Brooklyn neighborhoods and still have a need for affordable housing?

Why do we have to go outside our community for a choice of sit down resturants, family style dining, entertainment, movie theaters or to shop and to buy furniture, major appliances, electronics, a TV, a laptop etc.?

Why is there deep-rooted problems in the 36th district's educational system?

Why do you think that you need four more years of Al Vann in the 36th council?

My point is this: if Al Vann after all this time - 35 years in a position of political influence as an elected official- hasn't solved these 'quality of life' issues, what more can Al Vann do in 4 more years that he hasn’t done or tried?

Isn’t it time for a new perspective? Isn’t it time for new ideas or contributions? Isn’t it time for different approaches? Isn’t it time for new leadership?

Al Vann has contributed a lot to the growth of our central Brooklyn community but there is much work left to be done to realize our vision of a vibrant community in which all of our residents have the chance to realize their highest potential, and in which we can cultivate and leverage relationships to improved the economic development infrastructure for the 36 district local businesses, increase jobs in central Brooklyn, advocate for a living wage, advocate for affordable healthcare and housing, revitalize our dilapdidated neighborhoods and improve our public educational system.

Chances Are... you want to feel safe where you live, work and play.

Recently, I have been very involved in efforts to enhance the 'quality of life' in our community with the distribution of our Free Brooklyn Crime Prevention Guides For Businesses, Homeowners And Renters. In my vision for central Brooklyn, I see the Bedford Stuyvesant and Crown Heights communities as a desirable place to live, work, play, eat, shop, visit, worship, start and grow a business and/or raise a family. Those are a few of the most popular reasons, but at the heart of pretty much every reason why folks do live here is the need to belong to a cultural community. The beauty of Brookyln, New York is its diversity.

Here's What's So Great About Being A Bedford-Stuyvesant Resident

I live in Bedford-Stuyvesant because of the people who live in our community. It's a beautiful community and I feel very blessed to live here with my family and raise my children here.

I am a resident, homeowner and a stakeholder in the Bedford-Stuyvesant community. I care about our community and what happens to it. I care about the people who live in our Bedford-Stuyvesant and Crown Heights communities.

I am a grass roots' community civic leader from Bedford-Stuyvesant committed to bringing about a positive change in my community.

I have expressed optimism about the future despite the economic downturn, higher unemployment, higher job losts and even though consumer prices are rising, family budgets and many saving plans are shrinking.

Bedford-Stuyvesant and Crown Heights property values have increased significantly in recent years, resulting in higher taxes. The increase taxes is hurting many low and moderate income homeowners.

As a member of the city council, I will be the kind of public servant our Bedford-Stuyvesant and Crown Heights communities need. One who cares. I have demonstrated my commitment to our community. I have a history of serving the underserved in our community.

I entered the political arena 15 years ago because I wanted to help the underserved in our community. All my civic endeavors is geared to enhance the quality of life for people who live in Central Brooklyn. I enjoy representing the interests of the public.

My candidacy is based on the fact that I am the 'Bridge to the 21st Century'. I have a vision and comprehensive plan for the future of Central Brooklyn. A five point plan which is inclusive of:

* public safety

* economic development

* education

* housing and

* social services

I am a strong passionate articulate advocate and a "Voice In Action and A Voice Of Change For The Voiceless" for children who don't vote, don't contribute to political campaigns and have no voice or clout. Often times, they have no hope either.

I am devoted to nuturing my children. I have engaged in various academic and social enrichment activities in support of Brooklyn youth. Because, I know opportunities for our youth and their future belongs to those who prepare for it.

I am a strong advocate and a "Voice In Action and A Voice Of Change For The Voiceless" for teenagers to find healthy activities to have fun. Exciting and productive activities that don't involve drugs and/or alcohol include getting involve with the performing arts, music, trying out for the school play, or sports team, joining school clubs or volunteering in the community.

I am a strong advocate for education. I know education is the gateway to getting the necessary skills to building a good life. It has become increasingly difficult to advance in society without a high school degree and some level of higher education.

I am a strong advocate and a prominent "Voice In Action and A Voice Of Change For The Voiceless" for the disparity that exist in our Central Brooklyn communities poorest dilapidated neighborhoods. I believe in providing affordable housing and rent.

I believe in helping people, especially people who are in crisis find healthy ways to deal with their life challenges and stress.

One of the best ways to improve economics in the Bedford-Stuyvesant and Crown Heights communities and to ensure that our local business development flouish.

One of my community goals is to help people who live in the Bedford-Stuyvesant and Crown Heights communities to improve opportunities and the quality of their lives.

The challenge and task at hand is providing opportunities, especially economic opportunities.

In speaking engagements and my Cornegy 2009 Blog, I continued to advocate for job creation and entrepreneurship. This is an ideal time to explore new possibilities and a new career path.

I will work diligently to building and leveraging relationships, advocating on behalf of my community and bringing back allocated resources.

Having a passion in our lives is important for our mental health and personal happiness. My passion is being an advocate and of service to people in our community.

I believe it is very important to be an involved and active community member. I encourage you to have pride, become active and involved in our community. Make a committment to help make the changes you want to see.

I, Robert E. Cornegy, Jr., am challenging Al Vann for the 36th District City Council Seat in Brooklyn, New York. I am challenging Al Vann because I want to represent YOU... Bedford Stuyvesant and Crown Heights in the New York City Council 36th District. I am a major player in the challenge to Council Member Al Vann's seat in the 36th District 2009 election.

I am campaigning and doing as much as I can today and every day to reach out to my central Brooklyn constituency. The 36th district incumbent Al Vann is counting on “his base” voters to give him a win, but we need all District 36th voters to use the power of their vote on September 15th.

Thanking Al Vann. Our party and our neigborhoods are stronger because of the work Al Vann has done over the years. However, it's time to pass the torch. It's time for a changing of the guard. It's time for new 36th District leadership for Bedford Stuyvesant and Crown Heights.

One thing I have noticed and has been brought to my attention is politicians in my area are not very accessible. I promise, I will be the most accessible candidate in central Brooklyn.

I want you to be able to get your voice heard. So, I can advocate on the needs of our Bedford Stuyvesant and Crown Heights communities. As a City Council Person I can do a lot for central Brooklyn to improve the 'quality of life' to make it a safe community to live, work and play.

I am Robert E. Cornegy, Jr. I am a democrat running for New York City 36th District Council Seat!

I have been in the political arena as a community activist and community organizer since 1994 and I am still going strong. My agenda is simply. I love Brooklyn, New York.

I am a resident of Central Brooklyn. I live in Bedford Stuyvesant. I have many friends who live in Crown Heights. I shop and support the businesses in Crown Heights.

I am people-oriented. I am a family man. I am just like you, I want the best for my family. Just like you I have hopes and dreams for myself and my family's future.

I want to enhance the quality of life for you and your family in the 36th District. I will serve everyone in the 36th District as your next elected City Council person.

I believe everyone has the right to pursue happiness and the right to be happy and live life without longing.

I have strong ties to my church and to my community and to the people who live in my community especially, those who are underserved.

I have never wavered politically in my concerns for those who are underserved. I am a firm believer of equality, civil rights and civil liberties.

This includes people with alternative lifestyles, people with domestic partners, people with mental, emotional and physical health challenges...

I want to enhance the quality of life and living in central Brooklyn, New York. 'Quality Of Life Issues' Are Deemed Important in Bedford-Stuyvesant By Residents.

I have had time to personally go door to door and talk to my neighbors on Putnam Ave., Jefferson Street, Lewis Ave. and Stuyvesant Ave. on Block Beautifulcation Day July 11th, 2009 and to talk with many of you during our Team Cornegy and Supportor Appreciation day on July 18th, 2009.

On Saturday July 18th, 2009 hundreds of central Brooklyn residents gathered for our Team Cornegy and Supportor Appreciaion Day. We talked about their life struggles, and we talked about their hopes for the future.

I am deeply concerned about your everyday struggle. Whatever life struggles you are experiencing you are not alone.

People in the central Brooklyn community are very concerned about the economy, their jobs, healthcare, the high cost of prescriptions, unemployment and what will happen to their family members.

People are very concern with the local 'quality of life issues' and children education. I plan to be on the ground all this week. Thank you for keeping me updating on matters of importance to you. Please continue to provide me with your thoughts, ideas, and feedback.

I encourage each of you to engage me on the issues that are important to you. Your input helps me to better advocate and serve you as a community leader.

Some community concerns have been brought to my attention during my Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights daily walks are:

* Increase of Neighborhood Crimes: Assaults, Bulgaries, Shootings

* Boys and Girls High School Track Accessibility Issues

* The sale of the Slave Theater on Fulton Street.

I recently discovered online media is now following the Cornegy 2009 campaign. Hopefully, many of your concerns and issues will be made public and brought to the fore front by the media for Brooklyn's 36th District elected leaders to take note about the issues that are important to central Brooklyn.

My remarkable Cornegy 2009 Team and I are in full campaign mode. I am concentrating my efforts on campaigning. I am campaigning as if my life depeneds on it. I am in the fight for my political career.

And why? I am seeking to unseat a longtime incumbent. Al Vann is a 40-year incumbent in a solid Democratic district. He has the backing of nearly every major Democratic official in the state and has raised nearly $1 million. People are used to voting for Al Vann.

I could go on, but I think I've made my point. You and I both know that it is an uphill battle to fight the status quo. But I am ready for the challenge. I think the people of this 36h district are ready for a change of the guard.

However, the difference between myself and the current city councilman Al Vann is he demonstrates an autocratic leadership. He makes decisions for you. I want to include you and the community into the decision making process.

"Who Is Robert Cornegy?"

In case you don't know me, for the last 15 years I've been a community organizer for the community. Central Brooklyn has a host of needs. My main concern is 'quality of life'. Aside from 'quality of life' however, the issue that seems to reverberate most in my campaign is public safety.

Central Brooklyn residents deserve safe spaces to 'Live, Work & Play'.

I will stand by my promise to make our community a safe space to 'Live, Work & Play'.

It's very important for me to know my neigborhood is safe. I am a Brooklyn homeowner. I have a wife and 6 children that I love and adore and neighbors I care about. My family's personal and public safety is very important to me.

Giving my family the best that life has to offer and the best that they deserve is a personal priority for me. I know how crucial it is to be able to give your family the things they need and desire.

Teaching my children the values it's not what someone else can do for you but what you can do for yourself.

"But this campaign isn't about me..."

Many Central Brooklyn residents have little access to health care. There are seniors in the 36th district who can’t afford prescription drugs.

I will stand by my promise to improve healthcare.

My online Cornegy 2009 campaign is seeking to capture the Obama-fueled enthusiasm of young voters in the 36th district. President Barack Obama’s campaign effectively mobilized a new base of young voters. His campaign prove the 18- to 35-year-old demographic in the city’s electorate can be stirred by a candidate who directly engage young voters. President Barack Obama's online campaign inspired me to an expanded world of Web 2.0 possibilities.

The Cornegy 2009 campaign can leverage modern technology, engage young people and build a strong new young 1st time voter base. In that effort, my Cornegy 2009 campaign embraces an Internet-savvy and youth-friendly Web 2.0 Social Media strategy that includes MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, an interactve Blogger Blogspot voice blog, my Cornegy website and an "On The Air With Cornegy" Blog Talk Radio Show.

My Cornegy 2009 Team are the best in the biz. You've probably seen their work around just about every corner of the internet.

I hope to gain the trust and confidence of voters in the 36h District. I know this 2009 New York City Council race will ultimately be won on the streets of Central Brooklyn. My door to door campaign is to personally reach out to people within the community. There is a new generation of Central Brooklyn residents who have never been touched by the Brooklyn machine and for many this is their 1st election, too.

I am a recognized figure in the 36th district largely because of my community work.

I am comfortable greeting and meeting people on the street and actively engaging people in conversation.

The bottom line is I just want to help people. I want to help YOU. That’s the bottom line.

As a community leader I have a responsibility to be transparent and accountable for everything I do. I expect my constituents (YOU) to hold me accountable. Well, to say it short I am a man of integrity and ACTION.

My family has had to acclimate to my late night campaigning. However, I have an incredible supportive wife and children who happily greet me when I come home.

It is a grave concern to me the escalating numbers of Black on Black attacks that seems to be happening in our community. This recent youth slaying has destoyed two families in our community. Both families are experiencing and have to deal with a tremendous lost. My thoughts and prayers are with them during this difficult time.

I am organzing a show with 'On The Spot' Norman Graham to bring people who are stakeholders in our community together to discuss "What we can do to stop the violence with our youth."

I am reaching out to the greater Central Brooklyn community. Let's have some dialogue and talk about a solution. It's imperative that we get our youth in our communities to understand the life and freedom we enjoy is about the choices we make.

I value FREEDOM highly in my life. In fact, it's what I call my "DRIVER"...a core need that must be met in my life.

By the way, it's really important to know your DRIVER--because it will help you understand why you do what you do--and don't do what you should do. Once you identify your driver you can make better decisions to help you get what you really want in life.

As adults, parents and role models we have to get the messsage to our youth that they have the power of free will and can make better life choices and decisions especially, in moments of rage, anger or frustration.

I woke up this morning to a beautiful day. Today is Father's Day and I am reminded of my dad. Since 1977 he is no longer with us. My father had a tremendous impact not only on my life but the community he served, his congregation, his family - his children and wife.

My father was a well respected man sought after minister, speaker, influential church leader, trusted friend and mentor to countless Brooklyn and Queens residents who helped people not only his church members but people within the community.

My father was a phenomenal preacher. His timing was impeccable! He delivered and expressed great words of wisdom in his sermons that had a lasting impact. He practiced what he preached. He persevere through the inevitable challenges of his life journey.

My father never let Worry. Fear. Doubt. destroy or rob him of his life's moments.

As I reflect today, I recall he gave people struggling a sense of hope. He believed the fear dominated mindset destroys joy from people's lives, hurts our goals and weakens our determination. The fear dominated mindset rarely experiences the power of living and enjoying our lives.

My father was driven by a passion and desire to help people. My father was a man that made a difference in the community. Like my father, service has become a way of life for me. I have an inner drive to answer human needs and to improve living conditions in my own communities.

I help other people and I want to leave a legacy for my family and for our community. I hope I can be as responsible and have an impact and a legacy as my dad.

This morning I had an eppiffany. I realized although my father passed when I was only 14 years old he did a tremendous job as a father. He gave me the essential tools I needed to succeed in life and to be a loving husband to my wife, Michelle, and a loving father to our children, an effective advocate and community leader.

My father was from the deep south. My father was a quiet peaceful man. He didn't do alot of talking. In retrospect, I realized he let his actions speak for him. My father had a very powerful quiet secure persona and demeanor. When he walked into a room, his presence was immediately felt. He created a memorable first impression.

My father was powerful in his silence. He was an attenative listener. But when he did talk he had heart centered conversations. Better still, he developed and cultivated life long relationships.

My father's ability to teach what he knew was amazing. My father could anwers questions or explain things-- even complicated things in a way that you understood and remember.

I miss my dad. I cherish my memories of my father.

As I embark on this journey of manhood and learn new things about myself, my children and my wife I am strongly encouraged by the impact that my father had on me. I know my father gave me the tools that are necessary to be successful as a man.

I like to encourage all who have fathers and father figures and male mentors to take the time and let them know how important they are to you.

I can not begin to even scratch the surface of the impact my father had on my life. He was an active and influential role model in my life. As I see my children growing I have the need to look back to those things my father taught me NOT by his words but his deeds and actions. He was a dynamic man. I feel so fortunate to have had him as my father.

Hopefully, I can share more thoughts about my father.

MTA B-25 is an extremely important issue affecting Central Brooklyn and our Bedford-Stuyvesant community commuters.

The MTA B-25 is one of the buses targeted in the MTA’s budget proposal to have weekday service cancelled. According to the MTA’s 2007 data the B-25 had an annual ridership of 4 million, and was the 77th most ridden bus line out of 208 local buses.

What this means to you.

The MTA B-25 is a lifeline for the Central Brooklyn community supplying transportation for millions of riders, providing reliable public transportation for our handicap and elderly citizens, and providing foot traffic to our local Bedford-Stuyvesant community stores.

Canceling the weekday and weekend service of the MTA B-25 will force millions of riders underground to the already overcrowded A & C trains with only two handicap access stops in Brooklyn, Franklin and Euclid Ave.

But we are going to FIGHT BACK -

This is everything we done to prepare for the MTA B-25 battle.

We have made the MTA B-25 issue known to the community and help enlist support.

We have signed and circulated the MTA B-25 citizen’s campaign petitions.

We have attended Brooklyn MTA public hearing meetings.

We have attended and spoked at the African American Clergy and Elected Official Meeting in Brooklyn.

We have voiced our opinions and advocated on behalf of MTA B-25 community riders.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK - Happy Mother's Day. Michelle and I are sending a special Mother's Day message to all Central Brooklyn families.

We wanted to wish all the mothers in our community a Happy Mother's Day. We plan to personally reach out and hand out 1,000 Mother's Day cards starting this evening at the Fulton Restoration Plaza, 1368 Fulon Street, Brooklyn, New York.

Tomorrow Sunday May 10, 2009 on Mother's Day Michelle and I will continue recognizing mothers and distributing our Mother's Day cards and wishes at three different churches in our community: St Gregory The Great, Bethany Baptist and Cornerstone Baptist Church.

I am glad there is a special day to celebrate and honor our mothers. I believe, mothers definitely deserve our respect, admiration, and appreciation. I cherished the memories of my mother, (the late) Ellen Journey Cornegy.

I often share stories with my family and friends about my mother's wisdom, generosity and selfless family support. My mother was always there for me. She was a great source of inspiration.

Mothers have a very important role in our lives and in our society. Mothers are role models, our first teachers, and sources of unconditional love and support. Mothers instill the values, compassion, leadership and confidence that help define their children's character and self-esteem.

My mother extended herself to anyone in the community who needed and asked for help. My mother taught me to respect and view people as people and not to judge people by their life's circumstance. My mother believed people are inherently good but anyone can encounter a bad situation or experience an unexpected misfortune.

At a very early age I learned not to qualify people by their circumstances but to help people with their need. I believe one of the most important lessons I learned from my mother was not to see through people but to help see people through unforseen daunting life challenges and the difficulties they faced.

Mothers love, nurture and guide us through our life's journey. There is no substitute for the bond of love between a mother and child, and nothing is more worthy of reverence.

Congratulations to all of our new mothers who live in Central Brooklyn. Enjoy your first Mother's Day celebration.

My heartfelt, deepest condolences to my neigbors in the community, friends and colleagues who lost their mothers this year. Let me say, the first Mother's Day is the hardiest one to experience.

Among the greatest gifts I ever have received in my life is my wife, Michelle. I can not end this blog post without saying I am so grateful and extremely blessed for having a beautiful, wonderful and loving wife.

I sincerely appreciate, my wife, Michelle's love and dedication towards our children. I have no words to express how much honor and respect I have for her. I want to say 'Thank You, Michelle, for Everything You Do' for us.

I love Bedford-Stuyvesant. I love the Bedford-Stuyvesant historic landmarks, beautiful brownstones, magnificent architecture and neighborhood churches.

However, I am aware that there are many blocks within our Bedford-Stuyvesant and Crown Heights Communities that are economically depressed and need restoration and better community services.

We all are concern about education, parks, playgrounds and recreation for our children, healthcare, jobs and unemployment. We all want the access to good quality schools and parks for our children, good quality healthcare for ourselves and our families.

I encourage parents to get involve in your child or children's school. Be assertive and an empowered member of your child's or children school community. Attend PTA Meetings and have ongoing conversations with your child's or children school principals, teachers and parent coordinators. Keep abreast of your child's or children school activities and be involved as much as possibile.

One of my primary functions as a parent is to advocate on behalf of my children. I encourage parents to get involve in community meetings about improving parks, playgrounds and recreation centers for our children's safety and fun.

Let's continue this conversation. There are compelling Bedford-Stuyvesant and Crown Heights Community neighborhood issues, needs and enviromental eyesores that are serious and we need to discuss.

Leadership is about taking the lead. I am leading the charge on public safety, crime prevention, education, domestic violence, mental health services, entrepreneur and small business opportunities and other topics affecting our communities.

New York Public Libraries play a vital role in our communities. You can get more than a book from the public library. Today as a member of a local library you and/or your child has access to computers, the internet and the world.

You can go anywhere in the world instantly on the Internet. New York Public Libraries provides free wireless Internet access to library users.

Our community public libraries were the original centers to go research and access pertinent information, periodicals, books and reading materials before the World Wide Web.

I am a strong supporter of the New York Public Libraries and it's enhancing literacy programs that encourage our youth to read. Our New York Community Libraries books offer our children ideas and ways to empower themselves.

Recently, I read the book from the library 'Horton Hears A Hoot' to second and third graders. The book story can be parrell to underserve communities. I was amazed when the children were able to vocalize the empowerment concepts in the book.

"No matter how small I am I can be heard".

Cornegy 2009 - Why I Own A Blog?

My Cornegy 2009 Blog allows me to communicate on a far more personal level with you. I like the Cornegy 2009 Blog because it creates a sense of community online. My blog also allows me to keep our community issues at the forefront of the political discussion and be accountable to you.

The point brought to my attention recently is that not everyone is Internet savvy or familiar with reading or interacting on blogs. This social media channel is new to many of you whom I have invited to visit my blog.

So, let's talk about this because I don't want any perceived communication barriers. Alot of people may be used to visiting websites but not sure what to do on a blog. The difference between a website and a blog is the website is static and the blog is interactive.

I have both a Cornegy 2009 Campaign informational website and an interactive Cornegy 2009 blog that I invite you to visit.

How To Use The Cornegy 2009 Blog?

You can look at the Cornegy 2009 Blog archives to read past blog entry posts and to get an overview what the Cornegy 2009 Blog is about.

Most blog owners, myself included, want to interact with their visitors and ask visitors to respond to a blog post and leave a comment. For example, I am sharing my thoughts with you now and I would like for you to respond with your own thoughts, opinions and questions.

Notice that just after the end of this blog entry is a short section, which includes a link to comments. You have to click on the word "Comments" to post your own comments. When you click on the "Comments" link, you'll see the replies people have posted.

"What Is Needed In The Bedford-Stuyvesant Community?"

I believe, one of the things that is needed in the Bedford-Stuyvesant Community is more dialogue around personal and public safety.

I've been talking with you about your safety for awhile. I've been telling people how not to leave themselves vulnerable to become a victim of a crime in their homes, apartments, businesses or neighborhood.

Just in case you missed our Bedford-Stuyvesant concerned citizen crime prevention forum last week... you need to read this.

We had a good turn out and great participation on a dreary, cold and raining evening on Wednesday April 1st 2009 from Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood residents on our concerned citizen crime prevention forum. I am proud to say we started on time.

We were all there for the same reason...

We are taking personal responsibility for our safety and well being. And more importantly for our family's safety.

I really appreciate participants coming out and officers from the 81st and the 79th police precinct taking the time to dialogue with us and answer questions.

Our LIVELY crime prevention forum discussion was about being AWARE of our immediate surroundings and being PROACTIVE for our safety.

I believe, with ongoing dialogue, community involvement and elevated awareness we can lessen the crime in our neighborhood.

From the personal crime experiences, stories and advice shared at these forum dicussions we can learn how to improve our odds of knowning what to do for our personal home and public safety.

We won't just give up! We will be proactive.

Thank you for taking the time to meet with me today. I am appreciative, humble and a gracious person. I have been blessed with the love of a beautiful, loving and caring woman. I feel a deep level of happiness and inner peace however...

I am very concerned with the critical economic issue that we face today. I know and understand the financial difficulties and personal challenges many of my Bed-Stuy neighbors and people in our community are dealing with.

Many of my neighbors are looking for ways to improving their finances. I understand their and your financial struggle.

As a family man, a devoted husband and father, I am deeply concerned with the issues of crimes of violence: domestic violence and children caught in the cross fire of perpetuating household conflict, child abuse, rape, violent crimes against women and street crimes.

No one for any reason deserves to be abused.

You and I both want a better community. I am a strong supporter of mental health services for people in our community. We have people who are grappling with their thoughts and want insight into themselves or wrestling with emotions and internal pain.

Mental health services are needed in our community so people who need help can get help. Some people need professional help and guidance to find out why they do the things they do and how to find a new mindset and behaviors to change.

Other people need mental help or life coach counseling to help them achieve their goals in life.

Let me explain...

One thing I've noticed along the way is how difficult
it can be to try and get your "inner game" finely tuned
so you actually can achieve what you want in life.

This applies to business, personal life, finances... EVERYTHING.

Sure, we can set goals and all that, but somehow sometimes we
just seem to lose focus before we get there. It's kind
of like too much garbage or noise gets in the way, you know?
